Military expert Leonkov: Russia will respond to the deployment of US nuclear forces in Eastern Europe 
If the US will deploy nuclear forces in Eastern Europe, Russia will respond to this threat in a mirrored manner and deploy its weapons, as well as air defense systems on the territory of Belarus, said military expert Alexei Leonkov. In a conversation with Lenta.ru, he added that the Russian Federation will always act in the interests of its own security.
American missiles may appear in Eastern Europe if Germany refuses to place them on its territory. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg threatened to transfer NATO nuclear weapons to the east on November 19.
“Russia will respond in a mirror-like manner: as soon as the United States begins to deploy its missiles, we will deploy ours,” Leonkov said. – Recently, the general military doctrine of the Union State was changed. It has become more expanded, and the territory of Belarus will be protected by all types of weapons and military equipment that we have. And this is not only air defense – if the Americans deploy a missile system in Poland, we will deploy weapons that will block it. So Russia will always act in the interests of its own security, as well as the security of the Union State. ”
Earlier, Stoltenberg explained the presence of NATO military forces in the east of the alliance and in the Black Sea for defense reasons. NATO Secretary General noted that such a disposition of troops does not threaten Russia.
