A travel agent from Russia shared stories about nerve-exhausting requests from clients
Egypt. She spoke about this in her personal blog on the Yandex.Zen platform.
According to her, there are now many specialists on the tourist services market who started working after Egypt closed to Russians in 2015. As the author noted, because of this, managers “did not learn to sell it.” Therefore, travelers may have false ideas about the best prices for tours.
So, once a client asked her to pick up a tour to Hurghada for a week for 30-40 thousand rubles and showed offers from another travel agent.
“I didn’t understand anything at all: they were stupidly thrown off the first hotels from the search engine, without even bothering to briefly tell about the advantages of this or that hotel,” she was indignant.
The travel agent noted that from- for this, clients do not have any information about the country, and their desires for a vacation contradict each other. For example, many do not know that Egypt is famous for coral reefs with many types of fish, do not understand in which regions of the country there are beaches with a smooth approach and where it is worth going to avoid strong winds.
She also separately drew attention to that now we should not expect a good level of service from hotels, with the exception of hotels in the high price segment. “If you rested in a hotel six or seven years ago, this does not mean that you will like it now,” the author concluded.
Earlier in October, a resident of the Moscow Region town of Khimki lost her expensive vacation from for defrauding a former travel agent who got into debt. So, she paid 430 thousand rubles for the voucher, but on the day of the trip, the fraudster contacted the woman and said that the hotel had refused to book places. After that, he stopped communicating.
