Media: the oldest member of the British Parliament died at the age of 86 years
MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. The oldest member of the house of Commons of the British Parliament, Gerald Kaufman died at the age of 86 years.
The corresponding statement was made on Sunday evening the official representative of the family of the deceased, transfers TV channel Bi-bi-si.
Kaufman was a member of Parliament from the labour party in North-West England since 1970, in 2015 became the oldest member of the house of Commons.
“He loved life and politics. I will really miss him”, — quotes the Guardian the words of the leader of the labour party Jeremy Corbyn, who called Kaufman “a cult figure”.
