The author of Viperson Dushkin predicted the emergence of VR headsets built into the brain ten years later , may appear in 50-100 years or earlier, says Roman Dushkin, author of the Viperson digital twins project. He gave such a forecast in a conversation with “Lenta.ru” in the framework of the “CyberReality” project.
The specialist said that in the future humanity will use technologies similar to inventions from the British science fiction series “Black Mirror” : his characters possessed special chips with which they could record everything that happened before their eyes. According to Dushkin, very soon such neurointerfaces, allowing access to virtual reality without any additional equipment, will appear in real life.
“VR headsets will be initially built into every person at the level of a neurointerface – with output information directly to the visual cortex, that is, bypassing the optic nerves. This is ideal, but it's still quite a long time before that. Maybe 100 years, maybe 50, ”he predicted. At the same time, the specialist noted that technologies are developing so rapidly that built-in virtual reality devices may appear in ten years.
Earlier, the founder and head of the American company Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, announced the launch of a service called Horizon Workrooms. With the help of a virtual reality helmet, users will be able to simulate team meetings and communication.
