Ukrainian border guards denied entry to 15 foreigners from the Middle East what follows from Belarus for tourism purposes, is reported on the website of the State Border Service of Ukraine.
It is noted that 15 migrant tourists traveled by bus from Minsk. During border control, they told the servicemen of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine that they had come to the country for tourism. “During an additional check, the border guards found out that foreigners, including four teenagers, flew to the capital of Belarus a few weeks ago and immediately went to the Grodno region,” the ministry said in a statement.
The foreigners tried to illegally cross the border at a checkpoint in the Chernihiv region, but the border guards found out that they “had no reason to enter the country.” In addition, it turned out that most citizens had passports issued almost at the same time, in September-October 2021.
“Travelers assured that in our country they are most interested in the views of the Lviv region. It was from Lviv that they allegedly planned to return home. However, such a tourist route did not convince the law enforcement officers and did not become the basis for confirming the purpose of their trip, ”the department noted. They also recalled that now the border with Belarus is being heavily guarded.
Earlier it became known that Ukraine will send 8,500 police officers to the border with Belarus. The country admits the introduction of a state of emergency (state of emergency) due to the current situation at the border.
