The Israeli Security Service suspected the janitor of spying for Iran Beni Gantz's country, on suspicion of spying for Iran. This is reported by Fox News, with reference to the SHABAK.
According to the service, 37-year-old Omri Goren “on his own initiative, a few days before his arrest, through one of the social networks, he contacted an organization connected with Iran, and he offered to help in various ways, given his entrance into the minister’s house. ”
It turned out that the cleaner was offering to install malicious software on Gantz’s computer. Goren allegedly asked for money and provided photographs of the Defense Minister's personal belongings, including a computer, desk, phone, tablet, safe and personal accounts of the family.
The SHABAK indicated that the actions of the cleaner did not cause any serious damage, since he did not have access to classified information due to the data security protocol in the house. However, in the course of this incident, the protocols were revised.
In February, the General Security Service suspected 20 Israelis of illegally selling cruise missiles to foreigners. They are accused of illegal development, production and testing of cruise missiles, which were then secretly sold to a certain state in Asia. The defendants include former defense industry employees.
