Prosecutor General Venediktova: Ukraine remains one of the main hubs for cybercriminals to investigate cybercrimes. The Prosecutor General of the Republic Irina Venediktova spoke about this during the International Forum on Cybersecurity, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
She called Ukraine one of the world's main hubs for cybercriminals, but at the same time noted that Kiev remains a “reliable partner” in the fight against such criminals.
According to Venediktova, at the beginning of the year, foreign law enforcement officers involved in cybercrime treated their Ukrainian colleagues with distrust and expected them to “drain” the materials of the investigated cases.
“Therefore, the demonstration that Ukrainian partners are reliable, strong enough and they can cooperate at an appropriate level is very good,” the Attorney General added.
In October, the hacker who created the fake a copy of the Ukrainian state application “Diya” (“Action”) was invited for an internship at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. Thus, the young man who created a program to forge certificates of vaccination against COVID-19 was offered to “atone for his guilt.”
