Mishustin fired Deputy Minister of Sports for gross violation of duties

Prime Minister Mishustin dismissed Deputy Minister of Sports Mashkova for violation of duties job responsibilities. The order is posted on the website of legal information.

The document says that the dismissal was provided for by subparagraph “a” of paragraph 3 of part 1 of article 37 of the federal law “On the state civil service of the Russian Federation.” This law stipulates that a civil servant can be dismissed in case of truancy, that is, absence from an office without good reason for more than four hours in a row during an office day.

Mashkova has a law degree. She took up the post of Deputy Minister of Sports in 2020. In the same year, Oleg Matytsin became the minister of the department.

In the spring of this year, the Baza Telegram channel reported on the possible resignation of Matytsin. The source claimed that the official and his deputies wrote a letter of resignation of their own free will. Later this information was not confirmed.
