Olympic champion and State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova a fight in the stands during the 2022 World Cup qualifying match between the national teams of Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her words are quoted by Eurostavka.
The deputy considered that the reason for the incident was a desire to attract attention. “So that young people have a tough vaccination that Russia is bad. Therefore, they use all possible sites. There is a strong influence on the minds of young people, and it will be very difficult to steer back later, “Zhurova said.
On November 17, it became known that during the selection match for the World Cup, Ukrainian fans turned over the Russian flag with the coat of arms. The Bosnians thought they were waving the Serbian flag in front of them, and took this as a provocation. A fight broke out between the fans because of the tricolor. The situation required police intervention.
The meeting between the teams took place in the Bosnian city of Zenica and ended in a 2: 0 victory for the guests. The Ukrainians will continue to fight for a ticket to the World Cup in play-offs. They finished the qualifying tournament in second place in their group, with France first.
