Kremlin spokesman Peskov: The Ministry of Defense is evacuating Russians and CSTO citizens from Afghanistan who need to leave given the extremely turbulent situation there. This was told by the representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov, writes RIA Novosti.
According to the press secretary of the president, not only Russians were evacuated, but also citizens of the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
Earlier it became known that Russian military aircraft flew to Kabul to evacuate compatriots from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. All citizens of Russia and other countries of the former USSR, including Ukraine, will be able to leave from there.
On November 15 and 17, explosions occurred in Kabul, during which at least six people died. Terrorist attacks became more frequent in the republic after the Taliban came to power ( Taliban, a terrorist organization banned in Russia ). Later, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that events in the country could develop according to a catastrophic scenario if the authorities in Kabul are unable to normalize the situation there.
