Virologist Chumakov: low antibodies are a signal for re-vaccination against COVID-19
A low level of antibodies to COVID-19 is an alarming signal , this factor should motivate to re-vaccination. This opinion was expressed by the director of the Center for the Global Virological Network, adviser to the World Health Organization (WHO), professor at George Washington University, Konstantin Chumakov, reports RBC.
“If you measure antibodies, and there are none at all, they fell low, then then this is an alarming signal and it is worth hurrying up and getting vaccinated again, “Chumakov said.
At the same time, the virologist noted that if antibodies during revaccination are at a high level, then another dose of the drug will increase the amount of antibodies. According to Chumakov, additional antibodies will be able to protect against different variants of the coronavirus. At the same time, even the first vaccination reduces the risk of serious illness and hospitalization.
Formerly Honored Doctor of Russia, member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, Vladimir Krugly dispelled five myths associated with vaccination against COVID-19. Among them, there is little knowledge of the vaccine and side effects, the effect of the drug on human DNA and reproductive function.
