In Moscow, the court released a football fan who attacked the journalist from arrest

The Moscow City Court released on bail Korshunov, a fan of Spartak who beat up RBC journalist

»Valentina Korshunova, who attacked and beat RBC journalist Alexander Shchegolev. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the court.

The court granted the appeal of Korshunov's defense and released him on bail of one million rubles.

On October 22, the fan was arrested until December 21. He was charged under Part 3 of Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of a journalist”). Korshunov was also fined and banned from attending football matches for two years.

The incident occurred on October 20 after the meeting between Spartak and English Leicester at the Otkrytie Arena stadium in Moscow. A fan attacked Shchegolev, who was filming him. Korshunov at that moment was drunk and insulted the correspondent. Spartak strongly condemned the attack by a fan on the journalist.

The Red and White lost to Leicester 3: 4 in the match of the third round of the Europa League group stage. Until the end of the first half, the hosts had a two-goal lead.
