Pashinyan assured the safety of the territory of Armenia after the clashes

Pashinyan said that the area of the Armenian territories controlled by Azerbaijan did not grow

As a result of clashes on the border, the area of the territory controlled by Azerbaijan did not increase. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in the parliament, answering the questions of the deputies, his words were quoted by “Sputnik Armenia”.

The head of the government assured the parliamentarians of the safety of the Armenian lands. Pashinyan also stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan did not come close to opening communications in the region because of the position of Baku. According to the prime minister, the Azerbaijani leadership is preventing the unblocking of communications by regularly committing provocative actions on the line of contact.

In addition, Pashinyan noted, Russia three times proposed starting the demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, but Baku delayed the process all three times. This factor, he said, delays the establishment of peace and stability in the region, and also inhibits the development of the border territories of the two countries.

On November 16, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry accused the Armenian military of attacking Azerbaijani posts in the Kelbajar and Lachin regions of the republic. In response, the Armenian Defense Ministry stated that the Armenian military had been fired upon by the Azerbaijanis in the eastern direction of the border. Later it became known that Armenia had lost two combat positions.

The sides stopped clashes in the border area after negotiations with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. It is known that among the military of both countries there are dead and wounded.
