Political scientist Kalachev: the wall on the border between Poland and Belarus will not stop the flow of migrants with Belarus postponement of the solution of the problem. According to him, such a measure will not be effective and will not allow stopping the flow of migrants. The political scientist is convinced that the construction of the wall will add problems to both Poland and Belarus. He shared his assessment in an interview with Lenta.ru.
Earlier, the Polish senator Krzysztof Mruz said that Warsaw would sign contracts for the construction of a wall on the border with Belarus on December 15 this year. After signing the contracts, the Poles plan to immediately start work and lay the foundation. Mruz promised that the wall would reliably close the 180-kilometer section of the Polish border.
And then what?
Building a wall on the border between Poland and Belarus will not solve the problem with refugees in any way, Kalachev said. “The left progressive part of European society, various human rights organizations in any case will be concerned about the fate of refugees, they will beat drums and blow trumpets, it is quite obvious. In general, the main question is: what's next? Will the refugees be provided with humanitarian aid and at whose expense? ” – asked the political scientist.

Europe has accepted millions of refugees. Why are they now hated, considered terrorists and want to drive them out?
He is confident that the construction of the wall will only delay the solution of the problem with migrants. Ultimately, it will have to be solved, he said, and this is what the governments of Poland and Belarus should think about. “What options for their future can be considered now? Return to your homeland? I'm afraid most of them are not ready. Stay in Belarus? I think that Belarus itself is not ready for this. Find asylum in European countries? To do this, you need to get into them one way or another. Erection of the wall and, in general, a military solution to the problem is not a solution, and Europe cannot ignore it, “Kalachev said.
The Polish Parliament approved the initiative to build protective lines on the border with Belarus at the end of October. The total length of the Belarusian-Polish border is almost 400 kilometers. There are 12 checkpoints on the border.
In early November, the migration crisis worsened on the eastern border of the country. Thousands of refugees from the Middle East approached the barriers at the border and tried to enter the territory of the European Union. The Polish security forces had to use additional forces to contain the pressure of migrants.
