It is noted that the anniversary of the film will be celebrated without the creator of a series of books about a wizard boy, British writer J.K. Rowling. Fans of the franchise attribute this to its controversial words in 2020 regarding transgender people, after which Rowling was accused of transphobia. It is known that the author of the series of novels will appear in archival footage, but will not join the filming of new material.

The special episode will premiere on HBO, as announced by WarnerMedia Max January 1, 2022. The episode will feature the main stars of the franchise – Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, as well as director Chris Columbus. They will be joined by other members of the popular franchise, including Helena Bonham Carter, Rafe Fiennes, Tom Felton and many more. This issue will feature interviews and conversations with artists over two decades since the original film was released.
