Abuse case closed against former head of VSMPO-Avisma

The court dismissed the case of the ex-head of VSMPO-Avisma Voevodin, he was fined 30 thousand rubles made a decision to terminate the criminal prosecution of Mikhail Voevodin, the former head of the VSMPO-Avisma corporation, who is accused of abuse of power. The defendant's lawyer told Interfax about this.

According to him, the case was closed, Voevodin was fined 30 thousand rubles. He also has to reimburse legal costs in the amount of 300 thousand rubles. The investigation filed a motion to discontinue the case.

Voevodin was charged with abuse of power during the period when he was in charge of the corporation. From May 18, 2017 to January 31, 2019, contrary to the interests of the enterprise, he sold Feti titanium-quality shavings to four companies at a reduced price. The investigation estimated the damage to the corporation caused by Voevodin's actions at 53.7 million rubles.

He headed VSMPO-Avisma from 2009 to 2020. Voevodin left his post ahead of schedule.

VSMPO-Avisma supplies titanium to the largest companies in the world aerospace industry. Among them are Boeing, Airbus, Embraer. Rostec owns 25 percent plus one share of the corporation.
