Ukrainian fans in the stands overturned the Russian flag with the coat of arms. The Bosnians felt that they were waving the Serbian flag in front of them and took this as a provocation. This led to a fight between the fans. The situation required police intervention.
The match between the national teams took place in the Bosnian city of Zenica. Ukrainian footballers won 2-0.
Ukrainians will continue to fight for a ticket to the World Cup in the playoffs. They finished the qualifying tournament in second place, losing the lead to France.
