The Public Chamber explained the importance of the law “on landing”

Vinogradov announced the loss of profits by IT companies in case of non-compliance with the law “on landing” and digitalization of the Public Chamber of Russia Vadim Vinogradov spoke about how the law “on landing” will affect the observance of Russian legislation by foreign companies.

“Foreign IT companies make profits in our country, therefore the Russian market is important for international Internet players … All IT companies operating in Russia must comply with national legislation, comply with court decisions and respect the interests of Russian citizens and businesses. If foreign companies do not comply with the legal requirements of the Russian authorities, they can lose billions of rubles in profits, “the expert noted.

According to him, in order to confront violators, official regulators must have a set of diversified measures that the law “on landing” provides them.

“Such measures turn out to be much more effective than one-time penalties, since they affect the long-term financial profit of foreign IT companies. Russia, like any country, defending its own interests, must consistently strive to comply with its laws on its own territory. The presence in the country of official representative offices of foreign IT companies is of great importance for building an effective dialogue with them and withdrawing their activities from the “gray zone” in which it is currently located, ”the expert emphasized.

Previously, experts have repeatedly noted that protecting the rights of Russians and domestic business is the immediate task of Roskomnadzor. The law “on landing” plays an important role in this. In addition, it was noted that Russian users should have a real opportunity to protect their digital rights from IT giants, whose power is almost unlimited. The only authority that citizens can rely on in protecting their interests is the state.

Recall that on November 16, at a plenary meeting of the State Duma, the head of the Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, Vasily Piskarev, said that it was necessary to force foreign IT -company to comply with Russian legislation. According to him, illegal content is not removed on the Internet sites of the largest IT companies, but even replicated.
