63-year-old Minati Patnaik has lost her husband and daughter in a short period of time. The husband died of kidney failure in 2020. The daughter, with whom the Indian woman lived, died a little later of cardiac arrest. After that, the woman was left alone.
“I was shocked and lived in grief after their deaths. None of my relatives supported me. I was left completely alone, ”she said. The woman was helped only by the rickshaw Budha Samal, who served the family for 25 years. He, in particular, drove the woman's daughter to college. Patnaik decided to leave all her property to him. According to the woman's will, after her death, Samalu will receive her three-story house, gold jewelry and other property totaling 10 million rupees.
“The rickshaw and his family supported me during this difficult time and took care of my health, not expecting nothing in return, “said the Indian.
Although two of the woman's three sisters opposed such a decision, Patnaik followed all legal procedures to ensure that her property would be transferred to Samal upon her death.
“I was shocked when Minati Patnaik informed me of her decision to bequeath her property to me. I served this family for over 20 years and will continue to serve it until my death, ”Samal said.
