Tesla electric car users complained about false braking
Tesla car users reported more frequent cases of false braking while driving on autopilot. This is reported by Electrek.
False operation of the braking system can occur when the driver assistance mode (ADAS) is active on the electric vehicle. Experts believe that this is due to the fact that the autopilot mistakenly detects an obstacle in the way. According to motorists, whose cars began to slow down sharply for no reason, the situation gives them discomfort. In many cases, such behavior of a car can be dangerous, as the car in the back may not have time to avoid a collision.
Reporters noted that the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has already begun to study consumer complaints. According to car owners' reports, the car either gradually slows down and stops, or the autopilot hits the brakes sharply.
Electrek author Fred Lambert stated that he faced a similar problem when his car was being rebuilt on the motorway. “Fortunately, there was no car behind me, and I was able to quickly resume driving,” the journalist noted.
Earlier, new Tesla consumers complained that their electric cars were without USB chargers in the cabin. The company explained the situation with a shortage of spare parts in production.
