Alexander Khinshtein called digital literacy an important skill
hygiene, digital safety and digital literacy are critical skills for the modern person as the online environment has become an integral part of everyday life.
“Along with the positive aspects of digitalization, the number of various digital threats from which citizens can suffer has increased. Today cybercrime is the main threat to the country's development. More than 26 percent of registered offenses are crimes in the field of information technology, ”he said.
He also noted that due to the low level of digital literacy, users do not know what to do when faced with online fraud, manifestations of cyberbullying, and also easily trust fakes, the spread of which has become a real epidemic in recent years.
< p> “Increasing the level of digital literacy of the population is an important task, the solution of which should be facilitated by the state. I fully support the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Science to create a digital literacy program for the general population. In addition, together with the Ministry of Digital Science and the Ministry of Education, we are working on the issue of introducing a digital literacy course into the school curriculum. The higher the level of knowledge of citizens about how and in what ways they can ensure personal information security on the Internet, the less likely they are to become victims of Internet fraudsters or trust fake information, “he said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Digital Science published a draft rules for granting subsidies for the development and implementation of a program to increase digital literacy of the general population. The subsidy will be provided based on the results of a competitive selection to a legal entity that has experience in implementing projects in the field of digital literacy and cyberhygiene.
