Chinese TV: Biden told Xi that the United States is for “one China” and against the independence of Taiwan 
US President Joe Biden refused supporting independent Taiwan for the sake of relations with China: He stressed that Washington is in favor of the principle of “one China”, during an online conversation with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. This is reported by Chinese television, TASS writes.
It is reported that at the meeting, the Chinese leader warned his American counterpart against any attempts to support Taiwan's independence. Biden, however, according to a US administration official, “made it clear that the US is interested in preventing unilateral steps that change the status quo.”
Earlier in November, the US assessed the likelihood of a military Taiwan to China: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Mark Milli, said that China will not try to take Taiwan by military means in the next two years.
