Military personnel of the Pacific and Black Sea fleets will be equipped with AK-12 assault rifles -12, Izvestia reports. The first to take them into service was the honor of the servicemen of the Pacific (Pacific Fleet) and Black Sea Fleets (Black Sea Fleet). The assault rifles were tested by the “black berets” of the Pacific Fleet's peacekeeping battalion, currently serving in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin noted that traditionally new weapons are first received by the most combat-ready units – special forces, paratroopers and marines. In addition, he stressed that the early versions of the classic Kalashnikov assault rifle were inferior to American assault rifles in accuracy, but the domestic novelty competes with them in this parameter.
The AK-12 is designed in such a way that any devices can be installed on it. surveillance, laser designators or flashlights. In addition, a number of other modifications are available for it, among which there may be an additional front grip or an under-barrel grenade launcher. The butt of the weapon can be easily folded back if necessary.
The military department noted that the effectiveness of firing from the Superkalashnikov was twice as high as compared to the base AK-74M. Also, the machine now has the ability to fire in fixed bursts of two shots.
Earlier it became known that a naval version of the KUB-UAV was tested in Russia. Loitering ammunition was developed by Zala Aero (part of the Kalashnikov group of companies). Kalashnikov noted that the KUB-UAV is a universal weapon. The compact size of the complex allows launching loitering ammunition from landing boats.
