The Russian architectural bureau “Meganom” began to build the 262 Fifth skyscraper in New York
designed by the Russian architectural bureau Megan. The building will be the company's first project in the United States. This is reported by the ÖMANKÖ portal on its Instagram.
A 305-meter-high skyscraper called 262 Fifth will be erected in downtown Manhattan. The building should become the tallest building in the country among those designed by Russian architects. The team began working on the project in 2015.
The skyscraper plans to equip residential apartments, and use aluminum and glass as the main materials. In design, the architects decided to deviate from the standards: they decided to place the technical component, including engineering systems, not in the center of the building, but in the western part. In this way, they plan to free the living space from partitions. Porthole windows will be placed on one of the facades, and the roof will be given for an observation deck.
The New York City Department of Buildings approved the Meganoma project in October 2017. By that time, about $ 102 million had been spent on pre-project preparation. Five Points Development acted as the project developer.
