Exhibition “Reserved Tatarstan” has opened in Kazan

On November 12, the Museum of Natural History of Tatarstan opened an exhibition “Reserved Tatarstan”

“, Timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the emergence of the arboretum of the Volga-Kama State Natural Biosphere Reserve. This was reported by the press service of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve.

Visitors to the exhibition will get acquainted with rare species of trees and plants, as well as the history of the garden. The exhibition will also feature a series of photographs depicting the nesting life of the largest bird of prey in Tatarstan, the white-tailed eagle. It is noted that the Red Book birds live in the Saralinsky section of the reserve.

In addition, during the exhibition, museum guests will be able to listen to a series of lectures from researchers of the Volga-Kama State Natural Biosphere Reserve.

Museum representatives indicated that the said reserve was founded in 1960. In 2005, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) decided to assign it the status of a biosphere territory.

Earlier it was reported that a single digital space would appear in Tatarstan, in which books stored in various libraries of the republic. It was clarified that the minister of culture of the republic Irada Ayupova proposed to form a single search catalog, which would include all the library funds of the republic, as well as universities, schools and other organizations. She expressed her thoughts on this matter at a joint meeting of the Committee of the State Council of Tatarstan on education, culture, science and national issues, as well as the expert council under the committee.
