The Russians were reminded that from November 15 to enter Malaysia, a PCR test is required
Russian travelers were reminded of the opening of another beach resort – Langkawi Islands in Malaysia. This is reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
Experts told vacationers that to enter the country, they would need a certificate of vaccination with a drug approved in the tourist's state of residence, a PCR test with a negative result, done no later than 72 hours at the time of arrival, medical insurance with coverage for at least 80 thousand dollars (5.7 million rubles), as well as a return ticket within the validity of the visa and the booked tour. In addition, Russians planning a trip need to download the MySejahtera mobile application and register in it.
It is also noted that in Malaysia, vacationers are required to undergo two more PCR tests: one upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the second – at the hotel (no earlier than 72 hours before departure from the island).
The director of one of the Russian travel companies told how domestic travelers would be interested in this destination. “Malaysia attracts tourists from Russia and the CIS countries with an incredible opportunity for combinations of recreation and adventure, unique cultural features, as the only truly multicultural and multi-religious state in Southeast Asia,” the specialist said and added that the country is also distinguished by unique flora and fauna, being one of 17 countries in the world with the highest level of biodiversity.
From January 1, 2022, the country's authorities plan to fully open the borders for foreign travelers. Former Prime Minister Muhidine Yassin said Malaysia's tourism sector is seeing a slow recovery due to a lack of tourists.
