Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov: Bortnikov continues to work as head of the FSB

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov answered a question about the head of the Federal Security Service ( FSB) Alexandra Bortnikov, who turned 70 on November 15. His words are quoted by TASS.

The presidential press secretary noted that Bortnikov continues to work as head of the department, but found it difficult to answer the question whether his term of service was extended.

“I cannot answer I need to clarify exactly on the date, for how long, I need to clarify, “- said Peskov.

Alexander Bortnikov has been the director of the FSB of Russia since May 2008.

In the summer of 2021, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin submitted to the State Duma a bill proposing to allow marshals, generals and admirals to serve after 70 years.
