Azerbaijani police block road and cut off six villages from Armenia

Mayor of Kafan Parsyan announced that Azerbaijan would block the road to six Armenian villages point on the way to several villages of the Syunik region of Armenia. Blocking the road means that the connection between the settlements and the regional center is actually cut off. The message is reported by the Caucasian Bureau Telegram channel.

There are six Armenian villages behind the newly established Azerbaijani cordon. The conditions for passing through it are unknown, but Parsyan fears the introduction of a customs fee. If because of him the road is blocked by the police, the way to these settlements will increase several times.

“There is no alternative road. The only option is through Meghri. In fact, the road to Kapan with a length of 7-8 kilometers will lengthen up to 150 kilometers, ”the mayor said.

The checkpoint of the Azerbaijani side was installed on the Kafan-Chakaten road on September 12, and now it has begun to work. It takes place in the border territories of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said earlier that Azerbaijani troops invaded Armenia on November 14, and convened the country's security council on this matter.

Earlier, Azerbaijan has already commented on the presence of its soldiers near the Syunik region, calling it “clarification of borders.”
