Kulakov said that he considered all the accusations of a crime against him “absurd”. He also noted that it is not easy to conduct an investigation, but it is important for him to find out who exactly is behind the death of the girl. “I want to find out what it was and why it happened,” he said.
Earlier in October, five out of six jurors found Kulakov innocent of Isaenkova's murder. Judge Diana Almaeva ordered the release of the ex-official right in the courtroom. Kulakov admitted that he had joint plans to live with his mistress, but he was innocent of her murder.
The jury's verdict was preceded by the correspondence of the deceased with threats from an unknown person disclosed during a regular court session.
< p> Andrey Kulakov was the only defendant in the criminal case. According to the investigation, on May 2, 2019, he allegedly killed Yevgenia Isaenkova, who was the deputy chairman of the regional public chamber. She was driving her Mercedes, parked in the woods. It was assumed that Kulakov was next to her in the passenger seat. During a quarrel, an official punched her in the face, dragged her to the back seat and strangled her, and then fled the scene of the crime.
