Latvia began military exercises and turned to Belarus

The Minister of Defense of Latvia appealed to the authorities of Belarus in connection with the military exercises

Military exercises began in Latvia, in connection with which the Minister of Defense Artis Pabriks appealed to the authorities of Belarus. Delfi reports this.

“I asked to announce the start of military exercises in Latgale so that our Belarusian colleagues, if you can call them that, would know that it’s not just that,” Pabriks said. p>

“Sputnik Belarus” reports that the exercises began in the Latgale region, which borders Russia and Belarus. Three thousand land guards (military militias) will take part in them.

Earlier, Pabriks allowed NATO to participate in resolving the migration crisis on the border of Belarus and the EU countries. “If [President of Belarus Alexander] Lukashenko agrees [to exacerbate the situation], then the European Union and – I cannot rule out – even NATO will be involved. Because we must defend our border, and we will not open the border, ”the minister said.

In early November, migrants from the Middle East gathered on the border of Belarus with Poland and Lithuania, trying to break into the EU. The West blames Lukashenka for what is happening.
