Ukraine accused Russia of the migration crisis on the border of Belarus

Arestovich said that the crisis with migrants on the border of Belarus is directed against Ukraine in the contact group on Donbass, Aleksey Arestovich believes that the migration crisis on the border of Belarus with the Baltic countries is in fact directed against Ukraine. He stated this in an interview with the local TV channel Dom, a recording of which was published on the video hosting YouTube.

Arestovich said that “there is more behind this crisis than we could think,” and blamed Moscow for everything. “This is a deliberate operation by the Russian leadership, which aims to finally pull Lukashenka into the Russian orbit,” said a freelance adviser to the head of the Ukrainian president’s office.

According to him, illegal immigrants are brought in centrally with Russian help, and the Belarusian security forces “directly attacking the border with migrants ”, organizing and guiding them. The purpose of all this, Arestovich notes, is to “create a political crisis in Poland and then in the European Union and NATO itself.” And then – to transfer all efforts to Ukraine.

Earlier on November 14, it became known that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei held a telephone conversation with the Deputy Chairman of the European Commission, High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell amid the aggravation of the refugee crisis on the Belarusian-Polish border. It was clarified that Makei informed his interlocutor about the steps taken by the Belarusian side to reduce the flow of migrants.
