Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are discussing the possibility of modernizing the Pantsir-S1 short-range air defense systems. This was announced by Dmitry Shugaev, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) of Russia. were delivered to the country. “Modernization presupposes a significant improvement in the capabilities of the complex,” Shugaev emphasized.
The head of the FSMTC also noted that it is still impossible to talk about specific areas of modernization, because for this it is first necessary to agree on the technical appearance with the customer.
Earlier, Shugaev said that negotiations between Russia and Turkey on the joint development of weapons are ongoing. He noted that military-technical cooperation with Turkey is developing steadily. In particular, discussions are continuing on the supply of Russian military products. In addition, according to Shugaev, many countries in the region are showing interest in the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system.
