The 30-year-old Russian noted that it is not his fault that he has not yet encountered the best representatives of the division. “This is not my fault. Everyone refuses to fight me. At the same time, I am now in fourth place. Name at least one guy from the TOP-10 who would like to fight with me, “he said.
Earlier, Alvarez, who played in the past in the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC), said that Makhachev should not apply for title fight due to the lack of victories over the strongest representatives of the division. So the American took part in a dispute between Justin Gagey and Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Makhachev won the ninth victory in the UFC, defeating New Zealander Dan Hooker at a tournament in Abu Dhabi on October 30. The Russian demanded a title fight after his success in the octagon. Brazilian Charles Oliveira is currently holding the UFC lightweight belt. He will have to defend the belt in a duel with Dustin Poirier on December 12th.
