Moscow authorities have named the size of the new tariff for garbage collection

Moscow has approved a tariff for garbage collection, it will appear in the payment for housing and communal services in 2022

Moscow authorities are going to join the garbage reform, which has already been implemented in several other Russian regions. In this regard, a new tariff for the removal of household waste was approved in the capital, its size was named in the Department of Economic Policy and City Development, RBC reports.

The amount that Muscovites will have in bills for housing and communal services in 2022, will be calculated depending on the area of housing. The population of the capital will pay for waste disposal at 7.27 rubles per square meter, thus the monthly payment for an apartment of 45 square meters will be from 327 to 419 rubles, depending on the area.

The approved tariff 9 November, by order of the Deputy Head of the Department of Economic Policy of Moscow Dmitry Putin, will take effect from January 1, 2022. Previously, the removal of household waste was included in the service for the maintenance of living quarters, which was established by the Moscow government as the rate of planned and standard consumption. However, since the beginning of 2022, it was decided to single out this service as a separate line in payments for housing and communal services in connection with the garbage reform in the capital region.

It is noted that in 2020 the Moscow mayor's office increased the garbage collection rate by 2, 2 times, from 2.34 to 5.23 rubles per square meter of housing. This decision was made in connection with the closure of landfills in the Moscow region, as well as against the background of growing transport costs. In 2021, the tariff was increased by another 26.8 percent, it amounted to 6.63 rubles per square meter of living space. Starting from 2022, it will increase by another 9.7 percent.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian government set for each region the maximum indexes of the rise in prices for utilities in 2022. The biggest increase in the rent will be among residents of Chechnya, and the least change will be in the Sverdlovsk region.
