State thermal power plants of Ukraine are loaded by 10%
State thermal power plants (TPPs) of Ukraine are loaded by 10 percent, the rest are left without coal or are being repaired. The Ukrainian edition “Glavkom” writes about this.
Most (about 60 percent) of the capacities of state thermal power plants stopped due to lack of fuel. Because of this, 14 power units do not function, six more are being repaired. The load is carried by only three units at 23 state-owned thermal power plants.
For the last two months, every second power unit of Centrenergo – the largest company producing electricity and heat in the central part and in the east of Ukraine – has been shut down due to a lack of coal … Four power units do not operate at the country's private thermal power plants, including two at the Luhansk thermal power plant.
Earlier, Ukraine requested emergency assistance from the Slovak power system in the amount of 100 megawatts. The reason for the appeal was the emergency shutdown of the DTEK Burshtynskaya TPP units, due to which consumers in this zone may not have enough electricity.
At the end of October, the operator of the Ukrainian energy system, Ukrenergo, announced a serious shortage of coal. The warehouses contained almost five times less coal than it should have at that time.
