The authorities of St. the city will not have to impose additional restrictions due to the spread of the coronavirus. So such a probability was assessed by the first deputy chairman of the city committee for industrial policy, innovation and trade, Alexander Sitov, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, currently the situation with COVID-19 in the city remains tense, but is under control. If, by December 1, a sufficient number of city residents are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, or at least manage to receive the first component of the vaccine, then the introduction of new restrictive measures for the New Year holidays in St. Petersburg will be avoided.

He also added that he contributed to the improvement of the situation with coronavirus in the city non-working days from October 30 to November 7. According to the official, this measure allowed “quite effectively to break the majority of epidemiological chains.”
On November 10, the St. Petersburg authorities approved a decree on compulsory vaccination of residents over 60 years old. The coronavirus vaccine was also obliged to give workers of industrial, processing and transport enterprises. At the same time, citizens who have contraindications established by doctors can refuse vaccination.
