Aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle Naval (Navy) France collides with a 10m sailing yacht at sea, near the city of Toulon. This is reported by Naval News with reference to the Maritime Prefecture of the Mediterranean.
The incident occurred on the morning of November 12, when the ship was at the naval base of Toulon. The crew noticed that a sailing ship under the Polish flag was crossing the course of the aircraft carrier, and tried to evade it, after which a collision occurred.
After the accident, the aircraft carrier's crew established contact with the yacht's skipper and sent help to the ship. It turned out that there was one person on board the sailing ship, he was not injured.
An investigation is underway.
In early October, it was reported that an American nuclear attack submarine collided with an unknown object in the Indo-Pacific region. The accident did not affect the nuclear power plant, it is fully operational. In this case, 11 sailors were injured, they received minor and moderate injuries.
