The driver demanded $ 19 thousand due to a fine for being late of 49 cents

In Japan, the train driver demanded $ 19.3 thousand due to a fine for being late for a minute

his employer, the railway company JR West, due to a fine of 49 cents, which was deducted from him for being late for work by one minute, which happened through no fault of his, according to BBC News. He demanded to pay him 19.3 thousand dollars.

The reason for issuing a fine to the man was that an empty passenger train was sent to the wrong platform of the railway station. The driver noticed an error and put the train on the right track, being a minute late. He noted that his actions did not lead to negative consequences: the schedule of other trains did not change, and its train was empty, which means that none of the passengers were late. According to him, the punishment from the employer caused him “mental anguish.” However, the new size of the fine also did not suit him, and he went to court.

Earlier it became known that the Japanese driver of the bullet train is facing punishment for leaving the cab to the toilet at full speed. The train was moving at a speed of 150 kilometers per hour towards Shizuoka Prefecture in the central part of the Japanese island of Honshu. There were 160 passengers in the carriages. Suddenly, the driver needed to go to the restroom due to stomach pain. He was not in the cab for about three minutes, while a conductor without a license was driving the train.
