A doctor from Dagestan saved a girl's liver affected by a five-kilogram parasite

Surgeon Magomed Magomedov removed a five-kilogram mass in the stomach of a patient This is reported by the Telegram channel Mash Gor.

The surgeon said that a 22-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital, who faced complications caused by the coronavirus. In particular, the physician discovered a pathology in her – a volumetric formation in the abdominal cavity. After examinations, the patient was diagnosed with an echinococcal cyst of the liver, which is formed due to the ingestion of the tapeworm Echinococcus granulosus. The size of the cyst was 30 by 30 centimeters.

The doctor performed a successful operation on the patient, during which he removed the formation that occupied the entire right half of the abdominal cavity. The day after the intervention, the girl was transferred from intensive care to the ward, now her condition is assessed as satisfactory.

Earlier in July, scientists from Stavropol created a robot nurse to help doctors fighting coronavirus. According to the idea, with the help of the pattern recognition system, the robot can read the individual QR-code of the patient and give him prescribed medications.
