The best wine routes of the Krasnodar Territory were revealed to the Russians

Sommelier Denis Rudenko: winemaking in Russia has changed a lot in recent years

edge. Now, after the harvest, winemakers are ready to receive guests. You can come there both in a group and individually. The best wine routes in an interview with RIA Novosti were revealed by a member of the Union of Sommeliers and Experts of Russia Denis Rudenko.

According to him, winemaking in Russia has changed a lot in recent years. In the USSR, wine was produced on an industrial scale, and there was no wine culture, Rudenko believes. Now there are many small private wineries in the country that produce quality wine. Two of them even made it to the top 50 of the world.

The first is the “Lefkadia Valley” in the Krasnodar Territory. On the territory of the complex there are yew alleys with oaks, plane trees, lavender and an excellent restaurant. The second is “Sikora's Estate”. It is located between Novorossiysk and Anapa and is famous for Rieslings.

There are a total of 17 wineries in the Krasnodar Territory. The most famous are “Chateau de Talu Manor” in Gelendzhik, “Gai-Kodzor” in Anapa, “Chateau Pino” in Novorossiysk, “Chateau-Taman” on the Taman Peninsula and “Abrau-Dyurso” in the village of the same name. Each of the wineries has its own characteristics: somewhere it is a beautiful view, somewhere there are gastro bars, historical interiors, ancient wine cellars, and so on.

Rudenko noted that in the summer it is hot in the winery area, but gastrotourism can be combined with a beach holiday. The hottest time for this business is in September-October. At this time, the harvest takes place, so winemakers, as a rule, have no time for tourists. But at the end of spring they are not so busy and will gladly tell travelers about wine.
