More than 150 artificial ice rinks will open in Moscow in November-December this year
More than 150 artificial ice rinks will open in Moscow November-December this year. This was announced by the deputy mayor of Moscow in the Moscow government, Pyotr Biryukov.
“Specialists of the Municipal Services Complex are working on the preparation of 151 skating rinks with artificial ice,” said Pyotr Biryukov. “In parks, natural areas and festival grounds, skating rinks will start operating in November-December.”
The Deputy Mayor also said that the activities to freeze artificial ice will begin when the city has stable low temperatures.
“The ice is being built up with the help of special installations,” explained Pyotr Biryukov. “First, the base of the skating rinks was leveled with a layer of sand, then cellophane and strong rubber mats were laid through which pipes with a refrigerant pass – this is a cooling agent due to which the ice cover is built up.”
The head of the Municipal Economy Complex emphasized that the skating rinks have all the necessary infrastructure: lighting, rental and first aid points, changing rooms, toilets and food outlets. The ice cover will be maintained by specialized equipment.
All skating rinks will strictly monitor compliance with epidemiological standards in accordance with the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor.
