Earlier it was reported that Merkel during a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin, who took place on November 10, asked him to influence the head of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in connection with the situation with migrants on the Belarusian-Polish border. She also noted that the events on the border of the European Union (EU) and Belarus give cause for concern.
The Kremlin, in turn, said that the conversation took place at the initiative of the German side. “The situation with refugees at the borders of Belarus with the EU countries was examined in detail. Concern was expressed about the humanitarian consequences of the migration crisis, “the press service said.
