The NSDC Secretary of Ukraine suggested that Germany take migrants from the border with Belarus
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Alexey Danilov offered the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) to take migrants from the Belarusian-Polish border. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
According to him, the issue of refugees on the border with Belarus was a key issue at the meeting of the Security Council of Ukraine, and all departments received appropriate instructions. Danilov also said that if the situation with a breakthrough on the border repeats, Ukraine will act adequately. “There are enough forces,” he added.
Earlier, former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin called on the country's authorities to obtain guarantees of assistance from the European Union (EU) in the event of an influx of refugees from the territory of Belarus. He called the migration crisis on the border of Belarus and the EU a Russian special operation.
In Belarus, groups of migrants from the Middle East are trying to break through to Poland and Lithuania for the third day. The Polish authorities claim that 3-4 thousand people have accumulated near the borders, the Lithuanian authorities counted about 300 migrants near their cordon.
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Warsaw considers the events on the border to be political blackmail from Minsk and Moscow. The Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania Mantas Adomenas called the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko a terrorist. The Belarusian leader, in turn, said that soon there will be even more migrants. According to him, people go to Europe in search of a better life at the invitation of Germany and the United States.
