On AI Journey, eight companies and organizations joined the AI ​​Code of Ethics

artificial intelligence developed by the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Alliance. The official ceremony of joining new participants to the Code took place on Wednesday, November 10, during the largest Russian conference on artificial intelligence AI Journey, organized by Sberbank, at the section “Laws of the Future 2.0”. The Code was adopted by Vision Labs, Nanosemantics Laboratory, Cognitive Pilot, VEB Ventures, CRT Group of Companies, Atlansis Software Systems, Dialogue ANO, N.E. Bauman.

The Code of Ethics was opened for signature on October 26. The first signatories were Sberbank, Yandex, MTS, VK, Gazprom Neft and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). Subsequently, a number of AI market players sent applications to the Alliance to join the Code and committed themselves to follow the rules and requirements established in it. To date, the Code has been adopted by about 30 companies and organizations.

The Code of Ethics proclaims a human-centered and humanistic approach to the development of AI technologies, the principles of non-discrimination, security of working with data and information security, identification of AI in communication with a person and respect for the autonomy of human will, responsibility for the consequences of using AI. Adherence to the code of ethics will become a key element of the social responsibility of companies developing and implementing AI technologies in Russia.

It is planned that the Code of Ethics in the field of artificial intelligence will become a recommendatory document on ethics for all participants in the AI ​​market: government, business, Russian and foreign developers. The Code establishes general ethical principles and standards of conduct that can guide participants in relations in the field of artificial intelligence.

As a tool for the implementation of the above principles and provisions, the code provides for the creation of a National Commission on AI Ethics, the appointment of ethics commissioners, and the possibility of creating collegial sectoral ethics bodies. The Alliance will also develop guidelines and a set of best practices for solving emerging ethical issues in the life cycle of AI.

The Alliance for Artificial Intelligence brings together leading technology companies to jointly develop their competencies and accelerate the implementation of artificial intelligence in education, scientific research and in the practice of business. Alliance member companies are Sberbank, Gazprom Neft, Yandex, VK, MTS and RDIF. The mission of the Alliance is to be the center for the development of artificial intelligence in Russia and ensure the technological leadership of our country and the companies participating in the Alliance in the global technology market.
