Senator Dzhabarov: Russia has no goal to react to the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border called the flights of Russian bombers over Belarus regular and not requiring special attention. The politician said this in a conversation with Lenta.ru.
Earlier, RIA Novosti reported that two Russian long-range Tu-22M3 bombers were seen patrolling in the airspace over Belarus. The Russian Ministry of Defense explained this by practicing interaction with the command posts of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and Belarus and checking the air defense system of the Union State.
The air defense system was checked, the department said, under the leadership of the Commander of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus. “All the tasks have been completed in full,” the Ministry of Defense emphasized, noting that at the moment long-range Tu-22M3 bombers have returned to the airfield based on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Vladimir Dzhabarov noted that Russia and Belarus have a common defense space. In this regard, Russian bombers have every right to stay in the airspace of the Union State.

“I don’t think that our military has a goal to react to the problem with refugees or to intervene in the complicated situation on the Polish-Belarusian border. They have scheduled flights. I don’t think it is worth focusing on this. Otherwise, as Western journalists, we will see the “Russian threat” in everything. We have there and our tanks walk, then go inside Belarus, then go out. This is a union state, our closest ally, a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, we have the right to do this, ”the senator said.
He also noted that this practice is used all over the world. As an argument for his position, he recalled the flights of American bombers patrolling the skies over NATO countries.
Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called the migrants who had accumulated at the Polish-Belarusian border the beginning of a large flow.
