Kazakhstan to share weapons with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan

Kazakhstan will transfer ammunition and special equipment to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan

Kazakhstan will share weapons with Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in connection with the situation in Afghanistan. This is reported by “Spuntik Kazakhstan”.

Kazakhstan will transfer ammunition and special equipment to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Military aid will be provided free of charge, the Kazakh side will also bear the cost of its delivery.

Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic Ruslan Shpekbayev noted that the transfer of weapons will not affect the defense capability of Kazakhstan itself. According to him, assistance will be provided from the country's excess reserves. He also stressed that Bishkek and Dushanbe cannot transfer the received military equipment to other states.

To date, the draft law on military assistance has been approved by the deputies of the Kazakh Mazhilis (lower house of parliament). It will be considered by the Senate later.

Earlier, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, announced his intention to derive “great benefit” from the situation in Afghanistan. The head of the republic said that the states of Central Asia are interested in returning the country “to the previous channel,” and drew attention to the transformation of the region into “the main field of the geopolitical battle.”
