According to the newspaper, Sergei Zuev was taken to pre-trial detention center # 7 in Moscow the day before. He was placed in a double cell with a TV but no refrigerator. Zuev's neighbor is accused of the same article as himself – “Fraud”.
About two weeks ago, Zuev underwent heart surgery. On the morning of November 10, he felt increased pressure, but could not measure it – the convoy did not allow him to take a bag with things, including a tonometer, into the cell.
In addition, the arrested person was left without change of underwear, hygiene items, of things. After the intervention of the POC, the administration of the isolation ward promised to accept a parcel for Zuev from his wife.
Previously, the rector of Shaninka was under house arrest, but the Moscow City Court considered that the accused did not have any diseases due to which he could not be in the isolation ward. Zuev's lawyer will appeal against the transfer from house arrest to the pre-trial detention center.
Zuev, the rector of the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences, is accused of embezzling over 21 million rubles allocated from the budget under government contracts.
