Russian stores have learned to deal with lockdown

L'Etoile began to open sections in Perekrestok stores writes RBC. They are moving their sections to food outlets that have the right to continue working.

The first such method was mastered by the network of perfumery and cosmetics stores L'Etoile, which launched a pilot project in October together with the Perekrestok retailer, which is part of X5 Group. As part of it, individual branded L'Etoile sections appeared in Perekrestok stores.

At the moment, there are such sections in 128 out of 980 Perekrestok supermarkets throughout Russia. In addition, the corresponding page appeared on the Perekrestok website. Prices in the online and offline segments coincide with the cost of goods in the L'Etoile parent chain.

The holiday regime introduced by the Russian federal and regional authorities in the spring of 2020 and in the fall of 2021 to combat coronavirus, provides for a ban on the operation of non-grocery stores, due to which retail chains suffered significant losses.

According to the estimates of experts interviewed by the publication, the fall in the cosmetics market due to the lockdown in 2020 was 7.5 percent. During this period, L'Etoile's revenue decreased by 12 percent – to 74.1 billion rubles.
