Daily Mail: US hitchhiker sexually harassed in New Zealand
American woman hitchhiking in New Zealand sexually harassed from the driver's side and was thrown on the track alone. The Daily Mail writes about this.
According to the newspaper, the incident with 25-year-old Marina McKenzie from California took place in the vicinity of Christchurch. The tourist was planning to catch a ride to get to the neighboring town of Greymouth – after a while a man offered to give her a ride in a BMW car.
“I immediately realized that something was wrong. He had a creepy look, as if he had a plan, and he didn't just want to give me a lift, ”said the American and added that she got into the car anyway, since the area was deserted.
According to her, the driver from the first minutes of the trip began to ask her inappropriate questions. For example, he said that he was now heading to a nude beach, and asked if he could undress in front of her to the nakedness. Then the man began to tell McKinsey about his sexual adventures and insistently suggested that she take off all her clothes. “I bet you have a really beautiful body,” he told her at the same time.
“We were in the middle of nowhere, my bags were in the trunk, and my phone was almost empty, there was no connection either.” the tourist remembered. The girl explained that she tried to react to the driver's words as neutral as possible, so as not to provoke him to more active actions.
Later, the man stopped in the middle of an empty road, took the traveler's things from the trunk and drove off, asking at last if she would like to go with him to the nudist commune.
“I started looking for places to sleep, but the day before I sold my sleeping bag because it no longer fit in my bag, ”she said. Soon, the American woman met a group of aggressive teenagers who showered her with empty soda bottles.
As a result, McKinsey was picked up by her family and took her to Greymouth, where the tourist stayed in a hostel. “If you’re a girl who travels alone, always take pictures of the license plates and tell your friends where you are,” she summed up.
Earlier in July, British tourists, placed in isolation in a quarantine hotel, complained of harassment by security guards … So, one of the travelers reported that the hotel employee persistently knocked on the door of her room, and when she did not open, he warned that he would come back later. As a result, the girl had to barricade herself.
