In the Russian region, children left at home by a drunken father died in a fire

Three children left unattended by a drunken father died in a fire in the village of Anos unattended, as a result of which they died in a fire in their own home. The incident is reported on the website of the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The fire occurred in June. According to the investigation, the 31-year-old Russian left three children born in 2015, 2017 and 2018 in a wooden house with faulty electrical wiring.

While the man was away, a working electric heater caught fire. The children were unable to extinguish the fire and get out of the house.

“The accused admitted his guilt on the merits of the charges brought against him, repented of his deeds and gave truthful testimony,” the message says. The man is accused under article 3 of part 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing death by negligence of two or more persons”).

Earlier in the city of Yelts, Lipetsk region, two children died in a fire in an apartment building. A fire started in an apartment on the third floor where a large family lived. According to the mother, one of the daughters was in the room where there was a fire. The girl woke up the whole family with a scream, but the flames quickly spread throughout the room.
